World-renowned clubbing brand Gatecrasher tours Grammy-nominated artist and globally acclaimed DJ Paul van Dyk live in South Africa this February ahead of his highly anticipated upcoming “Evolution” artist album release. Returning to SA for the seventh time, “PVD’” as fans the world over have affectionately nicknamed him, touches down on local soil to headline three events as part of his 2012 “Evolution” World Tour.

As one of the ultimate superstars of electronic dance music with a career that has spanned more than two decades, the magnitude of Paul Van Dyk’s popularity and the praise received from fans and peers alike for his energetic and authentic live performances is no surprise! As an artist, DJ and producer, Paul has attained a myriad accomplishments and accolades including having sold more than 3.5 million albums and twice being voted the world’s No.1 DJ. He has remixed the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Depeche Mode, earned a Grammy nomination and accepted the “Order of Merit” from the state of Berlin.

With tracks like “For An Angel” and “We’re Alive” cemented in hearts and all time dance music rankings around the world, it’s no wonder that Paul recently garnered the title of “Longest Running DJ in the Top 10 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs”!! Adding to that, Paul’s sensational DJ sets attract expansive crowds on every continent with queues outside any event bearing the “PVD” name standing testament to his immense and unprecedented popularity. On Friday the 3rd of February, Paul Van Dyk is set to wow audiences in both Durban and Johannesburg with a full-on fist kick to the senses as he plays two massive shows in two cities on a single night. His two-date, three-city South African tour kicks off at the Wavehouse at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga with a first-ever appearance by PVD in the greater area of Durban. Thereafter he jets to Johannesburg for a second, same night performance at legendary SA electronic dance music institution, Truth Nightclub situated in Midrand.

Boasting no less than four dedicated dance arenas including a never before utilised outdoor mega-park as the main arena, the Jo’burg leg of the tour hosted by Truth will showcase Paul Van Dyk on the largest sound, stage and lighting set-up at the venue to date. Local partygoers will also be treated to a sensational support line-up comprising some of South Africa’s finest local DJ talent including Speedy, Spiro, Martin McHale, Morgan, James Damian, Ricardo da Costa, Pimp Squad, Roger D’lux, Karmi, Digital Rockit and more.

For the third and final stop of the tour, PVD makes his way to the Mother City as the star attraction of a two-day Summer Music Festival taking place at D’aria Wine Estate in Cape Town on Saturday the 4th of February. (see poster below)
