As most of you know I have been telling you for a while that you should start saving up for 2yrs time. Well now I can officially (maybe not ethically) tell you why…Enter the journey of Tomorrowland (TomorrowWorld).
It has been a hectic few months of me keeping my mouth shut but this is what is known thus far…
What is TomorrowWorld?
TomorrowWorld is the first international edition of Tomorrowland, one of the world’s most popular electronic music festivals. Tomorrowland is officially the world’s biggest dance music festival catering to over 180 000 people who fly to the festival in specially-chartered planes from countries around the globe. Tickets for the 2013 show sold out in one hour, and there are over 2.6 million people still on the waiting list.
When is it happening?
February 2015 UPDATE: This has probably been moved out to 2016 due to unforseen circumstances…
Where is it happening?
According to sources Cape Town (Initial source said Ostrich farm but a new source has stated Fairview outside Paarl…UPDATE: According to Fairview, the event will not be taking place at their estate which means my initial source of the Ostrich Farm could be correct). They have started the 10mil project on landscaping the venue.
How many people will it attract?
+-80 000 (60-80% from South Africa and 20-40% from overseas)
What will tickets cost?
+-R1500 (for 3 days of MADNESS)
What will it cost?
The festival will cost +-R120 mil
Who is bringing TomorrowWorld?
According to MarkLives.com a company by the name of VWV Massive (This is the joint effort of VWV and Massive) have bought the rights to . Mark Lives also published this:
“It’s going to be the biggest thing to hit South Africa since the [2010 FIFA] World Cup,” Cornwall promises, with 12 000 inbound tourists expected to head to Cape Town for the event. Landscaping at the venue on Fairview (outside Paarl) has already started at a cost of R10 million; Cornwall takes a long-term view here, intending to build a world-standard festival site here.”
According to the VWV website. In march 2013 (when I first heard about the rumors) they published this on their blog:
For the past two years, Cornwall and Pearson-Adams have been in negotiations with the biggest youth property on the planet. VWV Massive will be making an exciting announcement in the coming months about this coup for South Africa.
UPDATE: If you still don’t believe that Tomorrowland is coming. This was posted on the VWV Facebook Fanpage…
Honestly I have no idea. Maybe after the first Tomorrowworld or even next year….
When will tickets be released?
Well only after they make the official announcement (Please don’t add me and ask me, I will ignore you)
