In one of the saddest posts I have written to date, it is sad to say goodbye to one of the biggest heroes the world has ever seen.
Mandela passed away on 5th December 2013. one of the most memorable days in his life was in 1995 as he walked out of the tunnel at Ellis Park wearing the number 6 Springbok jersey to wish them good luck in the final of the Rugby World Cup.
Mandela’s health has been on a steady decline over the past couple of years as he had started aging very quickly. He contracted Tuberculosis during his time on Robben Island in the 1980’s and has lived an extremely good life since.
Mandela was instrumental in changing the way South African’s and more importantly how the world thinks. He helped a nation overcome the woes of Apartheid and played a significant role in bringing people together.
Messages flooded in from all corners of the globe as the former South African presidents’ health continued to decline this week.
