Smirnoff in connection with the World number 1 DJ, Armin Van Buuren, have decided to kick off his A State of Trance 500 tour in South Africa. He will continue to wow the world as he visits four other countries between 19th March and 18th April 2011.

After attending the best event of 2010, The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange, my senses were opened to the world of the true Smirnoff experience. The amazing lighting together with sound which was loud and crisp enough to produce eargasms to even the deaf, were only a few of the highlights of the night. The culture which was on display that night in the Belville Velodrome was nothing like I had ever experienced before. Big ups to Smirnoff team because they definitely know how to organise and event that will rock even Charlie Sheens socks.

A State of Trance 500 is the celebration of Armin Van Buuren’s 500th broadcast of his radio show, A State of Trance. The show has been around for the past ten years and has rounded up a crowd of more than 15 million listeners. After a successful ASOT450 tour last year, Smirnoff together with Armin have decided to make this tour bigger and better than the last. The venue for South Africa is the MTN expo centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg and will boast a crowd of no less than a couple of thousand. This event will be sure to get your blood pumping, ears ringing, heart racing and hands in the air.

Personally I cannot wait for this event. Smirnoff has kindly taken care of me and sponsored with a double media pass which I will be using to review the event. A big ups to them for going out of their way and making this opportunity available to me. They have also decided to sponsor a double golden ticket as a giveaway so one of my lucky readers will be able to enjoy the event in VVIP style!

So what are you waiting for? Head over to to book yourself a ticket to this amazing event.

See you there

Just remember Smirnoff is Not for Sale to Persons under the Age of 18. Drink Responsibly. Don’t Drink and Drive!

  • I attended the event, expecting a slick, polished and poised performance from van Buuren. I was disappointed, not by Armin’s personality or presence, but by the technical deficiencies on display, lavish attention had been paid to lighting, and the most important reason for the show, the sound had been thrown together, lacking in power and clarity. Lange, a long time favorite of mine, was denied the opportunity to play his rich melodic tunes by the same sound system.
    The lighting was amazing though!
