Snapchat recently launched their first hardware product. The snapchat glasses better known as “spectacles”, can record a 10 seconds of video at a time. Currently, they come in three colors, black, teal and coral and will set you back $130 (R1772,75). the glasses will also sync wirelessly to your iPhone or other Smartphone.
The Videos are also recorded in their new “circular” format…
“When I got the footage back and watched it, I could see my own memory, through my own eyes — it was unbelievable,”
This is how Evan Spiegel explained the “circular” footage to the Wall Street Journal.
How to use the Spectacles…
Just simply tap the button near the hinge and the Spectacles will record your video for 10 seconds from it 115 degree angle lens. (The lens was actually designed wider than that of a normal smartphone so it mirrors the human eyes view of objects).
Theres also an inward facing light to allow the user to know you’re recording content.
if you have an android or iOS phone, you can just transfer the videos over your bluetooth or for a higher resolution, you can transfer the videos over Wi-Fi.
Even though there is still some unknown information like, are they water proof, are there only limited numbers of the product, where can we buy them and what the release date will be, these glasses are undoubtably cool.
